What could the Fund invest in?

Nothing is predetermined. The Fund would invest in a limited set of shared priorities identified through a national strategic process.

  • Generosity

National initiatives to strengthen giving, volunteering and everyday helping – akin to ParticipACTION’s promotion of physical activity – to help reverse the decline in generosity.

  • People & workforce

Recruitment, retention, HR capability, training, leadership and volunteer infrastructure.

  • Evidence & what works

National data, research, evaluation and knowledge-sharing hubs, similar to the United Kingdom’s What Works Network.

  • Technology & productivity

Shared digital infrastructure, responsible AI adoption, cybersecurity and technical support.

  • Innovation & collaboration

Testing better operating models, innovative policies, partnerships and scalable solutions to persistent social challenges.

  • Purchase co-op

Pooling the buying power of thousands of charities to lower costs for insurance, software, equipment and professional services, potentially saving tens of millions of dollars.
